Our 8-Lesson Private Riding Package is designed for riders who want more than just time in the saddle — it’s for those who want real horsemanship, confidence, and correct fundamentals built through consistent, intentional instruction. This package includes eight private, 1-hour lessons, taught by an experienced CHA-trained riding instructor in a calm, supportive farm environment. Each lesson is customized to the rider’s age, experience level, and personal goals, allowing steady progress without pressure or overwhelm. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome, from first-time beginners to those looking to refine existing skills. Lessons focus on the whole horse-and-rider partnership, beginning with proper groundwork and handling. Riders learn how to safely approach, lead, groom, and tack a horse, developing respect, awareness, and responsibility before stepping into the saddle. Understanding equipment, horse behavior, and safe barn practices is an essential part of every lesson. Mounted instruction emphasizes balance, correct position, body control, and communication, with a strong foundation in western riding fundamentals. Riders progress at their own pace, building confidence through repetition, consistency, and clear instruction. As skills advance, lessons may include improved steering, transitions, pattern work, and increased rider independence — always guided by readiness rather than speed. Safety is a top priority. Horses are carefully selected to match each rider’s size and skill level, and instruction is patient, encouraging, and confidence-building. This package is ideal for families who value quality instruction, structured learning, and a positive first experience with horses, as well as riders seeking ongoing development. The 8-lesson format allows enough time for meaningful progress, habit formation, and comfort around horses — making it one of the best values we offer. Riders leave not only with improved riding ability, but with a deeper understanding of horsemanship, responsibility, and respect for the horse. Whether your goal is to build a strong foundation, gain confidence, or develop lasting riding skills, this package provides the structure and consistency needed to succeed.
Cancellation Policy
By booking a riding lesson or lesson package with River Mountain Ranch (“RMR”), the participant and/or parent or legal guardian agrees to the following terms: Lesson Package Expiration: 4-Lesson Packages must be completed within 30 days of purchase. 8-Lesson Packages must be completed within 60 days of purchase. Unused lessons expire at the end of the package period and are non-refundable, non-transferable, and not eligible for credit. Cancellations & Rescheduling: A minimum 24-hour notice prior to the scheduled lesson time is required to reschedule. Lessons canceled, changed, or missed with less than 24 hours’ notice will be forfeited with no refund. No-call/no-show appointments will be treated as forfeited lessons. Late Arrival: Riders arriving late will receive instruction only for the remainder of the scheduled lesson time. Riders arriving 15 minutes or more late may be refused riding for safety reasons and the lesson will be considered a no-show. Weather, Horse Health & Safety Conditions: RMR may postpone or cancel lessons at any time due to unsafe weather, unsuitable footing, or horse/animal health concerns. If RMR cancels a lesson, it will be rescheduled at no additional cost. Rider Requirements & Conduct: Riders must meet the age/weight limits for their selected program. Proper attire, including closed-toe shoes or boots, is required. Helmets are required for all riders under 18 and must be worn at all times while mounted. Participants must follow all staff instructions; failure to do so may result in dismissal from the lesson with no refund. Liability Acknowledgement: Participation in equine activities involves inherent risks. By booking, the participant/guardian acknowledges and accepts these risks and agrees to follow all safety guidelines.
